A federal judge has temporarily stopped the Trump administration's efforts to eliminate the Job Corps program.

On Tuesday, the National Job Corps submitted a temporary restraining order against the Trump administration, according to a release from the Sierra Nevada Job Corps.

On Wednesday, the order was granted by a U.S. district judge in Manhattan.

"That means that neither our students nor our staff have to leave for now," said a release from Sierra Nevada Job Corps in part. "This is a great relief to all of us. It is of great benefit to all of our communities."

Sierra Nevada Job Corps urged people to call and email senators and congresspeople to push to save the program.

According to CBS News, the order issued by Judge Andrew Carter prevents the administration from "enforcing, implementing, maintaining or giving effect to any shutdown tasks, job terminations, or student removals, and from taking any further action to eliminate the Job Corps program without Congressional authorization."
