The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) has announced the construction of a new traffic signal at McCarran Boulevard and Keystone Avenue.

With the new construction will come some lane and turn closures, scheduled to begin on Tuesday, February 18.

Officials say the traffic signal is being put in place to provide designated turns and enhance mobility for drivers using the intersection.

Through the fall, drivers will notice the following changes:

Leadership Parkway will be closed at McCarran Blvd from February 18 until March 7, with a nearby detour to Victory Lane for access.

Intermittent daytime side street and shoulder closures will take place as the signal infrastructure is installed during this winter.

Intermittent overnight lane reductions will take place for roadway paving in the spring and summer.

Periodic access closures between McCarran Blvd and Keystone Ave/Leadership Pkwy.

Speed limit reductions, lane shifts and minor travel delays should be anticipated through the work zone.

The center median at the intersection will be removed to allow turns across the intersection once the signal has been put in place.
