On March 25–27, the Nevada Department of Transportation is going to fill in age-related cracks in the highway surface.
NDOT says that patching the cracks will help to improve driving conditions and contribute to the preservation of the highway.
The maintenance will cause lane closures and travel delays on westbound U.S. 50 in Dayton.
Single lane closures will occur on portions of westbound U.S. 50 between Winters Parkway and the State Route 341 interchange from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on March 25–27 as part of a rolling work zone.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane of traffic.
Although most travel delays will be shorter, delays of up to half an hour are possible.
NDOT says it recommended that drivers allow additional time for their travels and adhere to the posted speed limits in work zones.
The timetable for road construction could alter.
NDOT says that additional lane cutbacks will be done in the same area on eastbound U.S. 50 in the coming weeks.
