Drivers on southbound Interstate 580 will notice some changes on Wednesday as the crew completes guardrail repairs near College Parkway north of Carson City.
The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) said lanes will be reduced on southbound I-580 between the North Carson Street exit 8 and the College Parkway exit 6 on December 10 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Speeds will be reduced to 55 mph through the work zone, and drivers should plan for moderate delays.
NDOT says they perform approximately 75 different types of highway maintenance that involve roadway improvements and ice and snow removal efforts.
Traffic safety is their top priority, and Wednesday's repairs show one of many types of work crews do to keep highway infrastructure maintained, according to NDOT.
NDOT also says the current warmer weather allows them to continue construction efforts and improvements.
People are advised to avoid the area if possible. The work schedule may change.
