Each year, Panini America, a sports trading card company, hosts their Super Bowl Kid Reporter Contest.

Over 300,000 kids across America entered the contest; and this year, the winner is 11-year-old Evan Sanchez who lives right here in Reno.

He is an avid sports fan and athlete, with an interest in sports reporting.

Not long ago, he opened up a pack of Panini sports cards and pulled a card that could enter him into the contest.

Once he entered, he ended up making it to the final ten.

He had to submit a video, which was reviewed by Panini staff, and after a few days, Evan and his family found out he won the entire contest.

"Well I was very, very, very shocked about how I won this whole contest, and I was really excited too," said Evan Sanchez.

As part of winning the contest, Evan and his whole family are going to the Super Bowl, and it is going to be a one-of-a-kind experience.

"He will do opening night, and he will interview all of the players and after that each day they have it planned out, we will go to the Panini Lounge—that is a VIP lounge—and he will interact with more players and do some more interviews," said Ray Sanchez, Evan's dad.

Evan says he is excited to meet players like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Jalen Hurts, and he already has a list of questions he wants to ask them.

Because this year's Super Bowl is being played in New Orleans, Louisiana, Evan already has his signature reporter tag ready to go.

"My name is Evan Sanchez, and from the French Quarter to the Fourth Quarter - I've got you covered," said Evan Sanchez.

Evan and his family leave early on Monday, so they can be there in time for opening night, and the rest of media events for Super Bowl 59.
