Sparks Police will join other Nevada Law Enforcement agencies in a Joining Forces Campaign, that will focus its attention on impaired drivers between December 16 and January 5.
The campaign's focus is to increase law enforcement engagement by bringing together multiple agencies for highly visible patrols across the State of Nevada. The common goal is to keep drivers safe by removing impaired drivers from the roadways and educating all drivers about the dangers of driving while impaired.
The Sparks Police Department remains dedicated to bringing the number of fatalities on Nevada's roadways to zero by increasing public awareness about the dangers of speeding, driving unrestrained, impaired driving, reckless driving, and more.
Sparks Police say to remember that spending a few dollars on a rideshare or taxi is much less costly than a DUI, which can cost up to $10,000 or more.
They say a DUI arrest results in being in jail, having your car impounded, losing your driver’s license, potentially losing your job, and most importantly, can result in injuries and the loss of lives.
Sparks Police say to never be too proud or embarrassed to ask for a ride. Allowing a sober driver to help you get home safely keeps you and others safe. Choose to never drive impaired. Every time you choose to get behind the wheel, lives are in your hands.
