A man has been arrested in Dayton on multiple charges, including failing to register as a sex offender, resisting arrest, and battery on a peace officer.
On Wednesday, February 19 Lyon County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to an unwanted subject call in the Dayton area according to a release from the LCSO.
The suspect, identified as Timothy Dean Johnson, was approached by deputies, who allegedly found he had an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant.
Deputies went to arrest Johnson when he allegedly resisted arrest and battered one of the arresting deputies.
Once Johnson was taken into custody, one of the responding deputies, who is also a member of the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Task Force, recognized Johnson as a convicted sex offender, according to the LCSO release.
Deputies confirmed that Johnson had recently moved back into Lyon County, the release said, and that he had failed to register with the Sheriff’s Office.
Johnson was booked into the Lyon County Jail on multiple charges, including failing to register as a sex offender, resisting arrest, and battery on a peace officer.
