A man was arrested last week in connection with a 21-year-old homicide cold case.

In September of 2003, the Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to a woman who died from sharp force trauma.

The woman was identified as 28-year-old Theresa Romano.

The investigation into her death remained open for 21 years.

Using updated DNA testing, the Henderson Police Department Cold Case Unit was able to identify the suspect as 47-year-old Ricky Lee Trader.

Trader was arrested on July 16 in Reno and faces one charge of open murder. He was extradited to the Henderson Detention Center on July 22.
