One man has been charged with arson after starting a small brush fire in Reno Thursday, June 9.

The Reno Fire Department tells us the suspect was standing at the scene upon arrival. They then took him into custody. 

It happened around 10:30 a.m. at McCarran Blvd. and Sutro Street. 

RFD says they closed the intersection and the fire was put out in about 15 minutes. The road has since reopened. 

Brian Willis was charged with 3rd degree arson after burning more than 1/8th of an acre of brush.
