A house fire brought Reno firefighters and police to Belcrest Circle Thursday morning after reports of heavy smoke coming from a residence.

Reno Fire Department crews arrived to find large amounts of smoke coming from the home but were able to quickly knock down the fire. The flames had spread into part of the home's living area, where firefighters continued working to overhaul the affected area.

Two people had evacuated before crews arrived, along with a dog and a guinea pig. No injuries were reported, and the fire did not spread to any nearby homes.

REMSA also responded to the scene, along with about 15 emergency resources.

The American Red Cross was contacted to help the two residents arrange temporary housing after they were displaced from the home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
