A man now faces a murder charge in the stabbing death of another man early Monday morning in Reno. 

Police originally responded to a fight near 2nd and Kuenzli Streets around 6:45 a.m. on Monday. 

Police arrested 33-year-old DeVante White on a charge of open murder with a deadly weapon and booked him into the Washoe County Jail.

"We're still investigating on the suspect in this case. This is an active investigation. This just happened. So as information comes in, we'll be able to provide more information," says Reno Police PIO Chris Johnson.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died. 

The department spokesperson does not think there's a threat to the public.
