Rodrigo Inostroza-Soto

A man found guilty of beating and strangling his female roommate to death, has been sentenced to life in prison.

Rodrigo Inostroza-Soto was found guilty of Second Degree Murder after a jury trial earlier this year.

Prosecutors say Tiffany Galvan was found dead in her home in March 2025, after Reno Police received a report that there had been a fight and she was unconscious and not breathing. Authorities say when officers interviewed Inostroza-Soto at the police station, he said the two had gotten into a fight the night before and that he pushed her, she fell and didn’t get back up. However, prosecutors say evidence later showed that after Galvan fell to the floor, and he put his knee on her neck and strangled her while hitting her repeatedly in the head.

Eventually, he and the man's sister called police.

The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says Inostroza-Soto will be eligible for parole after 10 years, which is the maximum under the law for Second Degree Murder.
