FEBRUARY 2, 2026 UPDATE:

A man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, with the possibility of parole after 10 years, after pleading guilty to drug trafficking.

Pablo Doval-Avalos had previously pled guilty to trafficking a controlled substance, 400 grams or more, according to a release from the Washoe County District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors sought a long sentence, pointing out the harm drugs are causing in the community, and also the danger Mexican drug trafficking organizations pose.

Doval-Avalos had been brought to Washoe County by a drug trafficking organization to sell drugs, according to the DA's Office.

After a months-long investigation into the sale and distribution of meth, heroin and fentanyl in Washoe County, officials have made an arrest.

29-year old Pablo Doval-Avalos of Washoe County was arrested on multiple drug-related charges on September 30 by Washoe County Narcotics Task Force detectives.

Doval-Avalos was booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility where he's being held on multiple felony charges, including:

  • Possession of a controlled substance (42+ grams)
  • Trafficking of a controlled substance (400+ grams)
  • Sale and transport of a controlled substance
  • Possession with the intent to sell a controlled substance
  • Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person

The investigation uncovered a total of 58 pounds of methamphetamine, one pound of heroin, 3,500 fentanyl pills and two guns.

The street value of the drugs seized in this case is estimated to be over $850,000.
