Some folks may remember the restaurant Mellow Fellow, a hot spot right across from Greater Nevada Field.

The owners of the restaurant have moved locations and changed the name.

For the last 10 years, Mellow Fellow sat right across the street from the home of the Reno Aces.

While they loved being a part of the Aces community, serving fans before and after games, unfortunately, they would only be busy for the baseball season.

Ryan Eller, co-owner of MF International, says, "We were dealing with a lot of baseball business obviously in that location, and it became very seasonal for us and tricky for us to be able to make things work year-round and incorporate all the unique and interesting flavors of food that we were trying to put out."

Eller says the new location has a lot more daily traffic, better parking, and is easier to spot for people passing by.

There are still some similarities in the menu between Mellow Fellow and MF International, but the owners say one of the biggest changes is the form of the food, switching from sandwiches and big plates to something that's a little more convenient.

Jason Dunmyer, chef and co-owner of MF International, says, "We are featuring right now food from 14 different countries. 16 Items in total that can be turned into a burrito, a bowl, or a salad."

Eller says the form of the food makes cooking a quicker and easier process, cutting down on wait time for customers.

"Everything is really designed to be out quick and super portable, so folks are able to grab it on the go," he said. "Stop in for a quick lunch, quick dinner, bring the whole family, whatever makes sense for you."

He tells us some of the most difficult challenges they face are keeping up with the increasing costs of overhead and labor.

"It's difficult to get your costs exactly right, your inventory, your labor, all those things when you don't know exactly how many people are going to come through your door on a given day," he said.

And while they are in talks to possibly open a second location, right now, they're just focused on ensuring this location is successful.

Dunmyer says, "We're offering something new to the community that they haven't had access to in the past, and with the price point and the accessibility, you know, I see it just growing, and growing, and growing."

MF International will be celebrating its grand opening on Saturday at 2855 North McCarran Boulevard.
