The Sparks Police Department (SPD) has released information about a crash that happened late Friday night.
At around 11:42 p.m. on Friday, July 18, officers from both the Sparks Police Department and Sparks Fire Department were called to the scene of a crash at the intersection of O'Callaghan Drive and E. Greenbrae Drive.
An investigation determined that a minor was riding a motorcycle that was not street legal and attempted to pass a car in the intersection. The car wasn't able to stop in time and stuck the motorcycle.
The minor was ejected from the bike and suffered serious injuries. They were transported to a local hospital.
SPD's Major Accident Investigation Team has responded to take over the investigation.
