For lots of people, there's no better way to beat the heat than to take a dip in a pool. The Moana Springs Community Aquatics & Fitness Center wants to help.

The City of Reno and Moana Springs are offering free public swim days at the Aquatic Center on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8.

The center is located at 240 W. Moana Lane in Reno.

Free entry to open swim is available for the first 125 people to enter each day.

The free swim is sponsored by Reno Ward 3 Councilmember Miguel Martinez.

"These free pool days are a great way to celebrate the end of the school year," said Councilmember Martinez. "This is the perfect opportunity for families to come out and enjoy the new city facility if they haven't had the chance to already."

Aquatic Center staff want to remind swimmers that they will need to bring their own towels and goggles, if needed. Life vests are available to use for free.
