Lots of crazy weather is happening in the mountains today, but that didn't stop people from hitting the slopes at Mount Rose Ski Resort.
Soren Toutejian, a skier, says "It's very windy and it's also snowing a lot, but it adds to the adventure."
Marco Grande, skier, adds, "I've been enjoying the conditions today. It's been really windy; it's made it very hard to see."
Blaine Alt, a snowboarder, describes the slopes as, "Icey in some spots, nice and snowy in others."
Aurelia Holman, a snowboarder, says, "One of the things that I don't like about it is that it's really windy so that all of the snow hits your face, and it hurts."
The mix of high winds and blowing snow isn't everyone's ideal weather when visiting Mt. Rose, but it's also not stopping the hundreds of people from hopping on a chair lift and spending the day on the slopes.
Isaac Toutjiam, a skier, says, "I was on some lighter lifts here, much lower to the ground so I didn't really feel the wind swinging us around or anything, I'm sure if you go higher, it might - but it felt pretty chill. It wasn't too much of an issue on the lifts."
Henry Holman, snowboarder, says, "The wind isn't too bad. It's not really affecting your abilities too much, but it's just like a side character in a book."
The resort says they're having a really good season so far with the base currently at 325 inches which is above average. And they're expecting more.
Julie Johnson, marketing coordinator for Mt. Rose Ski Resort, says, "The late season storms are great. It makes for perfect spring conditions. We're hoping to get about two feet out of this storm, so it'll be even better you know going into April and having more coverage for the mountains."
As storms continue to blow through, both ski and snowboard enthusiasts say it's important to prepare yourself when choosing to visit any resorts during a storm like this one.
Toutejian says, "Keep your eyes in front of you and just make sure you know what's in front of you at all times because since the lack of visibility you could come up on a bump that you don't see."
"Number one rule is stay in control - that's for sure," says Henry.
Alt says, "I would recommend just going slow and being safe if you're not used to this weather."
Grande says, "Stick together definitely because you don't want to get lost especially on this mountain."
"I recommend wearing a face mask, so you don't hurt your face," Aurelia says.
Toutjiam say, "Stay on the well-worn path, you know any wide ski runs. Don't go in the trees and forest runs around there."
