Local organization My Hometown Heroes is inviting the public to their second annual Breakfast of Champions later this month.

The breakfast is held in honor of the unsung heroes of the community who help college-bound cancer survivors to follow their dreams.

The event features multiple guest speakers, speaking on topics like, "Forging the Future," "Meaning Through Mindfulness," "Optimal Fitness Through Life's Challenges" and more.

The event kicks off on Saturday, April 12 at South 40 in Reno. Tickets for the event start at $125, and table sponsorships are available. Doors open at 9:30 a.m., with the buffet breakfast starting at 9:45.

The speaker series then runs from 10:00 a.m. until noon.

Each ticket to the event also includes a copy of My Hometown Heroes founder Danny Heinsohn's book, "For A Reason," which chronicles his journey through brain cancer.
