A Narcan Box dedication ceremony was held Saturday afternoon as a memorial for a community member who passed away.
The ceremony, which took place at the Mill Street Care Center on Mill Street in Reno, was in memory of 20 year old Nev Humphreys.
According to Kathie Carstairs, Vice President of Wake Up Nevada, awareness and education are the key factors in the opioid crisis.
She said the organization believes the availability of the free boxes is playing a key role in the declining trend of fentanyl overdoses in Washoe County.
They want to continue to expand the program, and are doing all they can to bring hope to those in addiction and help them find recovery.
