The Nevada Department of Transportation has released their 2026-2030 Strategic Highway Safety Plan.

They're calling it a "statewide, data-driven strategy to reduce traffic fatalities and serious injuries."  The plan is updated every five years to reflect current data and emerging trends.

The plan, announced Thursday, unites transportation agencies, law enforcement, public health officials, and emergency responders in an effort to make engineering improvements to state roadways and corridors, strengthen enforcement, improve emergency response, and promote education initiatives among other solutions.

According to NDOT, from 2019 to 2023 there were 1,606 deadly crashes on state roadways, and this plan uses crash data to address the highest-risk crash factors.
