The Nevada Donor Network reports that they've had another record-breaking year in 2024.

This past year, over 2,500 lives were positively impacted through organ, eye, and tissue donation.

The Nevada Donor Network (NDN) team facilitated the recovery of donations from 206 organ donors, 924 tissue donors and 1,444 cornea donors last year.

Additionally, NDN - in partnership with regulators and the medical provider community - helped mothers with 1,706 donations of birth tissue. This is a record-breaking increase of 450% over the previous year.

Thousands of tissue grafts were received, 631 organs were transplanted - a 28% increase from the prior year - and sight restoration was provided to 2,400 recipients in 2024.

NDN leads the United States by reaching 73 organ donors per million of population served, and 224 organs transplanted per million of population served. These numbers are based on the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network and U.S. Census data.

NDN says there are currently over 100,000 Americans, including more than 650 Nevadans, who are on the organ transplant waiting list, and that one organ donor can save up to eight lives through donation, heal up to 75 lives through tissue donation, and restore sight to up to two people through cornea donation.
