The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP), which is a division of the Nevada State Police, just recently finished a targeted initiative they've called the "Rural Blitz."
The initiative, which took place throughout the month of April, had NHP troopers focusing specifically on commercial motor vehicles on the state's roadways.
The Rural Blitz took place on USA Parkway and roads in Douglas, Lyon, Churchill and Mineral Counties.
According to information released by Nevada State Police, during the initiative 283 total inspections were done, resulting in the discovery of 604 violations.
Additionally, troopers say they uncovered 67 out of service drivers and 67 instances of out of service equipment.
