The Nevada Senate has passed a bill to prohibit the sale of water in disposable plastic bottles in Lake Tahoe.

As we've been reporting, the bill bans the sale, offering for sale or distributing disposable plastic water bottles of four liters or less.

Senate Bill 324 was amended to change the enforcing party to the local board of health or the health department instead of the attorney general.

After the first violation a warning being issued, the second violation within one year is a fine of up to $100 with a fourth violation in one year including a fine of up to $500.

It passed 16-4 with one absent.
