After a year of planning, the Nevada softball team has finally gotten to light up its stadium.

Officials say the University gets to host this year's Mountain West regular season conference championship after the team won last year, but they needed lights to do it, and funding.

The process was President Sandoval and his amazing leadership. And he said this is what we need to do," said Athletic Director Stephanie Rempe. "They earned it, they deserve it. He has put a lot of resources and support into our women's athletics programs, and this was no different."

Rempe says the team helped raise half the money, while the University paid for the other half.

Nevada Athletics says winning the tournament means everything to the girls, and they hope to do it again this year.
