North Lyon County Fire Protection District will reduce daily staffing levels in response to financial challenges presented by budgeting practices.
Effective immediately new minimums will be set of four firefighters and one battalion chief per day according to a release from North Lyon Fire.
The aim is to ensure fiscal responsibility while maintaining essential service to the community.
Previous budgets relied heavily on one-time funding sources, such as ARPA funds and mutual aid billing according to the release, which went on to say those sources are not sustainable.
