The Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation (NNCCF) will host its second annual Gold Ribbon Gala on Saturday, November 15.
The event will be held at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino Grand Exposition Hall in Reno and will honor Alyssa Carano Grant while raising funds for local children and families affected by cancer.
The evening will feature 2 News Nevada anchor and three-time Emmy Award winner Kristin Remington as host, sharing stories of northern Nevada’s youngest cancer warriors.
Attendees can participate in a stand-up pledge, a silent auction with over 100 items open to the public, and a live auction of unique experiences hosted by Liam Mayclem.
Live music will be performed by Whitney Myer with AMA5 and Juliette Leong, and a specialty dinner will be prepared by Lisa and Gregg Carano.
Tables and individual tickets are available at www.nnccf.org, and community members are encouraged to reserve early as the event is expected to sell out.
Proceeds will directly support NNCCF’s programs for families and children facing cancer.
Alyssa Carano Grant passed away in the fall of 2023. Known for her positive attitude, she inspired fellow patients and hospital staff with her smile and laughter.
“Alyssa’s life is an inspiration to us all and a reminder that, no matter what challenges life may bring, we must do our best to find the positive and always remember to smile. Alyssa’s smile shines down on us all now, and we’re certain she’s extremely proud that our family supports the important work NNCCF does for our community’s families and children facing the many trials cancer brings,” said the Gregg & Lisa Carano Family.
NNCCF is the only non-profit in Northern Nevada solely dedicated to helping children and families affected by childhood cancer. Its programs include the Family Assistance Fund, Inspire Scholarship program, Hope for the Holidays, and emotional support through No More Chemo celebrations and family activities.
