NV Energy has issued Public Safety Outage Management (PSOM) pro-active power shut-offs for multiple communities in northern Nevada from Genoa to Minden to the Tahoe Basin and north to Carson City.
Additional outages are possible throughout northern Nevada as the high winds are expected to continue throughout the day.Â
NV Energy is reporting more than 1,540 customers without power across Washoe County.
There's no immediate word on a cause or when restoration times on the several outages.
A smaller outage is reported across Douglas County, with some of the outages pre-planned.Â
Meanwhile, Liberty Utilities has pro-actively shut off power to several areas in California.Â
