NV Energy restores power to nearly affected customers in northwest Reno area

NV Energy is reporting that it has restored power to nearly all 2,200 customers that were affected in the northwest Reno area. 

The outage, located in the 89503 zip code, started just before 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. By 10:30 a.m. it was nearly restored. 

There's still no immediate word on why the outage happened. 

A smaller outage, in the 89509 zip code, is still affecting nearly 300 customers. This started around 1 a.m. and was caused by an underground equipment failure, says NV Energy. 

There's no current estimated restoration time on this outage either.
