An investigation is underway after a tribal member was found dead in a Fallon canal this past weekend.
The Fallon Paiute Shoshone Police Department says a passerby found the body of Kelly Benjamin in a canal southeast of Hicks Road just after 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The police department and emergency medical services responded and determined that the person was dead.
Tribal police say there’s no signs of foul play but the matter remains under routine investigation.
