UPDATE - September 19, 12:50 p.m.

Authorities have provided new details about the hours-long standoff at the Carson City home on Thursday.

38-year-old Jason Fisher and 38-year-old Jessica Wolfgram were both arrested for child endangerment. During the standoff it was discovered that Fisher had active warrants for her arrest.

Fisher’s warrants are from Washoe County and related to a failure to appear in court on a domestic violence case.

The woman, identified as the children’s mother, also has active warrants, though the nature of those warrants was not specified.

Furlong confirmed the three children, two elementary school-aged and one younger, are unharmed and currently in the custody of Child Protective Services.

The sheriff’s office has not clarified the relationship between the man and woman.

2 News Nevada spoke with a neighbor who did not want to be identified. The neighbor said, “In the neighborhood, everyone is pretty close and friendly, but we have never seen the kids or know much about the people in that house.”

ORIGINAL STORY - September 19, 9:45 a.m.

One person is in custody, and three children have been safely recovered from a home in Carson City after an hours-long incident involving the Carson City Sheriff's Office SWAT team.

The incident began just before noon Thursday at a home on Pinion Hills Drive, according to a post from the CCSO.

Deputies were dispatched around 11:45 a.m. to conduct a welfare check on elementary school children at the request of the school district.

When deputies arrived, the adults inside the home refused to bring the children out or allow deputies to see them.

Despite continuous efforts to gain access, the adults did not cooperate, leading to the deployment of the CCSO SWAT team.

The standoff lasted several hours, continuing until after 9 p.m.

Sheriff Ken Furlong said the SWAT team used a robot to make contact with the man and woman inside the home, which eventually led to both coming out.

The three children, two elementary school-aged and one younger, appeared unharmed and were taken into custody by Child Protective Services.

The man in custody has been identified as 38-year-old Jason Fisher. He was transported to a hospital after exiting the home with injuries that, according to Furlong, occurred before the standoff. The cause of the injuries is unknown.

The woman, who has not been identified but is confirmed to be the children’s mother, was also arrested.

Authorities have not clarified the relationship between the man and woman.
