One person is dead after an early morning house fire in south Reno. 

The fire broke out around 4:45 a.m. on Aspen Hollow Drive, near Thomas Creek Road and Mount Rose Highway.

When crews arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames and the roof eventually collapsed. 

The fire was contained to the single residence, but the house is considered a total loss.

Three people were inside the home when the fire started.

Two made it out, one was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while the other remained at the scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

According to an online post from TMFR, the fire is now out and crews are in the mop-up phase.

In total, eight fire engines, two ladder trucks, and four ambulances responded.
