Possible 9-1-1 issues for Voice over Internet Protocol type phones may arise across multiple cities and states for callers.
According to an online post by the Churchill County Sheriff's Office, they have received notifications from several providers and phone services, stating their may be possible disruptions of 9-1-1 for callers using these types of phones.
The Sheriff's Office is asking people who use these phones and are not getting through to dispatch to try calling from a landline or a cell phone and use the local non-emergency numbers 775-423-3116 for the Sheriff's Office or 775-423-2111 for the Fallon Police Department.
