Moving is never an easy task and finding the right team to help you relocate is key to making relocation a bit less stressful.

With the growing number of people leaving California, Reno is becoming the new popular "Biggest Little City" to live.

Finding a trusted moving company can feel like a part-time job, and is a frustration for many when it comes to locking down the right one. Knowing the ins and outs, what to look for, cost, how far in advance to book and staying clear of being scammed are determining factors.

Neighbors should be cautious during the moving process -- particularly with scams, and learn how to avoid being a victim, taken for thousands of dollars.

CEO Josh Sehon of Humboldt Moving & Storage, a local and family-owned business, shares a few tips in choosing the right company: "A legitimate mover will never ask for a deposit. If they ask you for a deposit up front, it's a scam. Another thing to do is I would always check the 'DOT' number of the company to make sure you're dealing with a legitimate interstate mover."

The economic trend is pushing people here from all over the country for career opportunities, driving moving demands to increase. Humboldt Moving & Storage says they see a continuous climb in business and have expanded their offices to a variety of cities out west over the recent years.

We spoke to one man who says his job promotion brought him to Reno; he highlights trust, good communication, a very friendly approach and more personalized service as what mattered to him.

During the process of selecting a moving company, all went smoothly. He's happy and enjoys making Reno his new home: "I actually got a promotion which included a job relocation. And my company had contracted movers and luckily those movers were a local company which was Humboldt Moving & Storage. Using someone local and family-owned is extremely important and I'm very thankful for this local company who showed up early, is professional, and very kind."

With the growing supply and demand, the moving company says Reno appears to certainly be a new hot spot for job relocations, as their business expands.
