Reno Aces

The Reno Aces fell 4-3 in heartbreaking fashion in a walk-off loss to the Albuquerque Isotopes Saturday night at Isotopes Park.

Blaze Alexander, who returned to the lineup after missing the previous two games, walloped a double in the first inning and came around to cash in on a run scoring groundball off the bat of Kyle Garlick. Alexander entered the evening with a double and a homer since his return from his latest stint with the Diamondbacks.

Tommy Henry struck out five to close out a phenomenal month of August. He allowed just one earned run and gave Reno a great chance to win, lowering his ERA to 2.16 with 43 strikeouts in six starts this month.

Austin Pope fired a perfect eighth out of the bullpen to extend his scoreless inning streak to 15. He has struck out 15 and held opponents to a sub .180 batting average in that stretch. Albuquerque got the last big swing, a solo shot off the bat of Hunter Stovall to win the game in the bottom of the ninth.

Reno and Albuquerque will include this six-game series tomorrow afternoon from Isotopes Park. The first pitch for the finale is slated for 12:35 p.m.
