A Reno man has been arrested following a months-long investigation into the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.

In March, the Northern Nevada Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on the suspected downloading of CSAM through a messaging app.

The report identified 46 images and video files depicting the sexual abuse of minor victims, including infants under one year old, according to a release from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.

An investigation traced the activity to a residence in the North Valleys area.

A search warrant was obtained for the associated online accounts, uncovering a substantial amount of additional pictures and videos.

In July, a residential search warrant was carried out at the identified home, with multiple digital devices taken for forensic examination.

A detailed digital forensics analysis, completed in September 2025, confirmed the presence of illicit materials on the devices.

27-year-old Alfred Adams was arrested in connection with the investigation.

Adams faces multiple felony charges, including distribute material depicting child sexual abuse, possess visual presentation of person under age 16, and use of internet to control visual presentation depicting sexual conduct of person under age 16. All of the charges are felonies.
