The sentence, to be followed by 20 years of probation, was handed down today by United States District Judge Miranda M. Du.
In March 2023, Weeks was found to be sexting with and sending explicit videos to a 15-year old boy. The conversations also detailed plans to meet up and have sex together in Reno.
Officials say Weeks then drove from Utah to Reno, picked up the boy outside of his home, and drove the boy to a local hotel where Weeks then had sex with the victim.
Earlier this year, in July, Weeks plead guilty to one count of coercion and enticement. In addition to the prison time, he was also ordered to pay just over $6,000 in restitution to the teenager.
Under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, Weeks will be required to register as a sex offender after his release from prison.
