Update, August 6:

The Reno Police Department said it has identified a suspect following a deadly shooting along Linden Street on June 16. The department is not releasing the suspect’s identity because it is waiting on DNA evidence from the Washoe County Crime Lab, but a department spokesperson said that the suspect is in custody on unrelated charges.

“We are working this case every day still. It is still very much an active, ongoing investigation,” said Chris Johnson, public information officer for RPD.

He said that releasing the suspect’s identity right now would hinder the investigation.

Original story, June 19:

The Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office has identified two people who died in a shooting near Linden Street early Sunday morning.

The coroner says 59-year-old Barry Vierra and 37-year-old Michelle Berna both died at Renown Regional Medical Center after the shooting, which happened around 5 in the morning.

The medical examiner says the manner of death is homicide.

The Reno Police Department believes that the shooting is an isolated incident and that there's no threat to the public because the two people knew each other.

The investigation is ongoing.
