Reno Rodeo makes donation from funds raised at 50 50 raffle

The Reno Rodeo Association is donating more than $170,000 to ten local organizations on Thursday, thanks to proceeds from the 2025 Reno Rodeo’s 50/50 raffle.

The total amount raised, $170,966.87, will be distributed among groups selected for their community impact, financial need, and efforts that further rodeo culture.

Reno Rodeo President Jim Neil will present the checks to each organization during a private presentation.

Recipients include Lead with Horses, NMSA, Washoe County 4-H, Horsemanship for Heroes, Nevada Peer Support Network, Domestic Violence Resource Center in partnership with Man Up Crusade, University of Nevada, Reno Athletics, Awake, Moms on the Run, and Truckee Meadows Firefighter Foundation.

The largest donation, $60,311.22, will go to the Truckee Meadows Firefighter Foundation. Other donations range from about $8,500 to more than $17,000.

“50/50 raffle tickets are sold each night of the Reno Rodeo,” the association said. “Half of the proceeds go to the person with the winning number at the end of each night, and the other half goes to a designated charity.”

Each organization benefits directly from the funds raised by the annual event, which continues to highlight the rodeo’s strong connection to the Northern Nevada community.
