The Reno-Tahoe airport is preparing for a busy spring break season, where they expect higher passenger volumes and parking to be at full capacity.
With the parking being in such high demand, RNO is encouraging travelers to plan ahead and consider your travel to and from the airport, including rideshare options.
The airport is asking travelers to check the real-time parking tool on the RNO website before heading to the airport, to see if rideshare might be a better option.
For locals who'd like to use rideshare to get to and from RNO, the airport is offering over 2,000 $5 rideshare vouchers for spring break travelers beginning on March 13 and continuing until March 30.
Voucher codes that can be used when booking a ride with Uber or Lyft can be found on the Reno-Tahoe airport's website.
Overflow parking will be available as the airport's garage and surface lots fill up - you may want to give yourself extra time if you decide to park in an on-site overflow lot, as the walk to the terminal can take up to 10 minutes.
RNO is also testing a new parking reservation system, which will be happening in April and allow passengers to reserve spots ahead of time. This system will only be available for spots on the second floor and roof of the garage.
