RTC Regional Connector Bus

It now costs less to ride one-way on the Regional Connector bus between Reno and Carson City.

The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County says as of June 1st, one-way fares will cost $2, down from $5.

RTC says the reduced fare will expand access for commuters, students and residents traveling the I-580/U.S. 395 corridor. Passengers connecting to Jump Around Carson (JAC) in Carson City can continue their trip for free with a valid transfer. Tahoe Transportation District riders connecting to the Regional Connector also receive a free transfer.

"This fare reduction removes a real barrier for people who want to take the bus between Reno and Carson City," said Alex Cruz, RTC Washoe senior transit planner. "Two dollars is accessible. It opens the door for anyone who relies on regional transit to get where they need to go."

RTC says the change stems from recommendations approved in RTC’s Move More transit optimization study, which identified the Regional Connector as an opportunity to better serve regional travelers.

Riders can plan their trip using the Transit App, or by visiting rtcwashoe.com.
