Several earthquakes struck near Ely on Tuesday, including one magnitude 3.6 temblor early Tuesday morning.
The Nevada Seismological Laboratory (NSL) says the quake struck at 8:34 a.m. about 32 miles southwest of Ely - there's no immediate word on any injuries. NSL had reported a preliminary magnitude of 3.8, but has since reviewed and revised it to 3.6.
A magnitude 4.5 quake also hit near Ely late last month.
The best thing to do in the event of an earthquake is to get underneath a heavy table or desk. You want to protect yourself from possible falling objects. A doorway can work as well but be aware that shaking can cause the door to swing back and hit you.
