47-year old Philip Nelson has been arrested on multiple felony charges by the Mineral County Sheriff's Office.
On September 22, Nelson was arrested after an investigation by the MCSO.
His jury trial concluded earlier this year in July, and Nelson was found guilty on counts of sexual assault, possession of a dangerous weapon, child abuse and 14 counts of lewdness with a minor.
At his sentencing on October 24, Nelson was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Sheriff Bill Ferguson remarked, "This conviction is a testament to the tireless efforts of our dedicated law enforcement officers. We are committed to protecting our community, especially our most vulnerable members. This case highlights the importance of reporting suspected child abuse and sexual assault."
