That’s a wrap.

On Sunday evening, cars pulled out of the Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe parking lot for the final time this season.

Skiers and snowboarders say they enjoyed one last crack at the mountain.

"All skiing's good skiing,” Alexander Townsend said. “But I'll tell you what, the best day of this last week was last Sunday. We got that awesome storm that blew in. What, second week of April, we get snow?"

Even though that storm brought 20 inches of snow to Mt. Rose, a couple of young skiers say the terrain on Sunday morning was very icy compared to the rest of the winter.

“We just went on one [trail] called Ramsey's, it's an intermediate, and we maybe got one turn where it didn't sound like we were skiing on broken pots,” Joe Packer said.

"It's not the worst day, but also not the best. For the last day, it's been pretty good,” Jack Vallee added.

This ski season left much snow to be desired, but Packer said he learned a lot and made a lot of progress this winter.

“I just started going on advanced terrain two months ago,” the south Reno local said. “I still fall in a good amount, but I've gotten a lot better from my first practice.”

But he couldn't have done it alone.

“Right now would be a perfect time to give a shout out to the ski team, because they were the first ones that helped me on to the more advanced training,” Packer said. “So thank you, ski team."

Erv Wolf has skied the slopes on Slide Mountain for over a decade. He said getting a group together on the last day has become an annual tradition.

“It's a great tradition here at Rose. A lot of people ski here from opening to close. And we just all get together, and all of us appreciate our time because we know it's, some of us don't see each other for next season,” Wolf said.

Ski season may be behind us at Mt. Rose, but for the skiers and snowboarders, the memories will stick around forever.
