Fire officials knocked down a two-acre brush fire Saturday in an area south of Washoe Lake.
According to fire officials, a report was called in around 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, and crews from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue (TMFR) responded.
The crews are calling it the "Skinner Fire," and say that it's a brush fire about two acres in size near the intersection of U.S. 395 Alternate and Eastlake Blvd, north of Carson City.
Personnel did have to call in a helicopter unit to assist, since the fire is located on rocky terrain.
BLM is leading the investigation into the fire. A recent Facebook post from TMFR says that the fire was caused by target shooting.
