It was a busy weekend for South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue, with crews responding to two crash incidents in two very different places: one along the switchbacks to Emerald Bay and another at a home.
According to South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue in an online post, the incidents happened Saturday and Sunday, and both remain under investigation.
On Saturday, a car went over the side of the switchbacks going up to Emerald Bay.
On Sunday, another car
went into the side of a house.
The department said the back-to-back calls are a reminder of why its crews train every day and remain ready to respond around the clock.
“That’s why we train. Every. Day.”
South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue said it is available “24/7/365 to take care of anything that happens.”
Just a reminder for drivers to stay alert and use extra caution on the road, especially when navigating winding roads and switchbacks.
