Sparks High School was placed on secured campus for about 10 minutes Friday due to a possible threat. The details of that threat have not been released.

The school was in Secured Campus between 1:30 and 1:40 p.m.

Principal CJ Waddell sent an email to parents:

Hello, Sparks High School families,

This is Principal CJ Waddell, and I want you to be aware that our school was placed on a Secured Campus today, Friday, May 8, due to a possible threat. We kept our students and staff in their classrooms while school police conducted a thorough search of the school and grounds.

We have now lifted the Secured Campus.

I appreciate your concern and cooperation, and I thank you for your patience as we worked through this situation. Please call us at 353-5550 if you have further questions.

Once again—the Secured Campus has been lifted at Sparks High School and everyone is safe.

Thank you.
