The Sparks City Attorney's Office has released information today about a domestic battery case from April 2024 involving minors.
Jason Tracy Holland has been convicted of domestic battery after the April 7th incident.
At the time of the incident, Sparks Police officers responded to a call from a woman who said that her husband had thrown her into a wall - after which, she fled from her apartment with her and Holland's children.
She told officers that she and Holland had gotten into an argument in front of their four children, and that he had thrown a record player at her and missed, hitting one of the children instead.
Officers did find evidence of redness and pulled skin on the child's shoulder.
After more physicality, Holland then attempted to hit her and missed, hitting another one of the children in the ear.
Officers spoke with the two oldest children, who corroborated the victim's statements about the physical violence.
On December 17, the City of Sparks secured a conviction for domestic battery, despite the victim being uncooperative.
Holland will serve 180 days in the Washoe County Jail in addition to community service, domestic violence classes, and fines.
