The Washoe County Human Services Agency’s Senior Services Division is inviting the community to celebrate and honor local veterans during a special event at the Sparks Senior Center on Friday, Nov. 7.
The celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The free community gathering, open to all veterans, active-duty, retired, and reserve service members and their families, will take place at 97 Richards Way in Sparks.
Attendees will raise root beers in salute while listening to the National Anthem and a performance by the Reno Silver Dollar Chorus.
“We encourage all in our community to come together for a fun morning of festivities, as we celebrate our incredible veterans, who have sacrificed so much for us to have the freedom we share as Americans each and every day,” said Commissioner Clara Andriola.
The event aims to bring people together in gratitude and celebration for those who have served in the armed forces.
