Law enforcement agencies are typically known for serving the public, but a new fundraiser has police literally serving people - their food.
Special Olympics Nevada, in partnership with Texas Roadhouse and The Law Enforcement Torch Run, are hosting a special Tip-A-Cop fundraiser that pits northern Nevada against southern Nevada, all for a good cause.
The event is happening Wednesday, February 26 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Texas Roadhouse location at 150 Damonte Ranch Parkway in Reno.
Local law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes will serve as "celebrity waiters" during the events; tips given to the waiters will be donated to Special Olympics Nevada.
To add to the fun, the Reno location will feature a special appearance by the Washoe County Sheriff's Office horses.
