Special Olympics Nevada, teaming with the University of Reno, Nevada School of Medicine, want to ensure that the athletes are at the tops of their games.
The Healthy Athletes program is offering free health physicals for anyone interested in participating in Special Olympics Nevada - this include athletes and their families, coaches, and volunteers.
The physicals are scheduled for Saturday, January 11 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Renown's Main Campus, Center Advance Medicine B, which is located at 1500 East 2nd Street, Suite 300 in Reno.
The program is aimed at providing health services and education to Special Olympics athletes, in addition to altering the interactions between health systems and people with intellectual disabilities.
